La Carihuela
Within a short distance from the resort you will find yourself in a vibrant area of shops/bars/restaurants where you will be spoiled for choice. There are also supermarkets and as previously mentioned on the sea front there are again more dining and shopping opportunities. The promenade is very long but about 30 minutes walk brings you to Benalmadena Marina and a little further you will reach Costa Benalmadena. Torremolinos is a short walk in the opposite direction around the headland. There are many steps up to the town but there is a lift for a small charge.
Just outside the resort on the main road there is a lift to Battery Park – well worth a visit with its outstanding views, walking circuit, children’s large play park and World War 2 cannons and turret. (See photos above). From here the Montemar Alta train station is a short walk away. In high season there is a large water park and crocodile park close by.
